Angry Mob Lynchs House of Reps Member

An honourable member of the House of Representatives was lynched as some young adults in his constituency came on him and gave him a lasting beating. If not for quick Intervention, the member representing Paiko Federal Constituency of Niger State, Hon. Salihu Adamu would have died. Daily Trust reported that the angry youths also destroyed the official car of the law-maker while his driver was also injured. It was reported that it all began at the time when the honourable representative came into one of the suburbs in his constituency to grace a socio-political gathering and the mob who were reported to have resented lawmaker, took offence in his gracing the gathering because he had not visited them ever since he had been elected some two years ago. The lynching Hon. Adamu encountered from the youths led to him being first admitted at a hospital in the Tunga area of Minna, the state capital before he was referred to a medical complex in Kaduna State. Eyewitnesses claimed that the angry mob had initially warned the lawmaker to vacate the meeting for his own good but he ignored the threat, leading to the youths beating him up. However, Three of the youth were arrested.
